Traditional Holiday Thumbprint Cookies

1½ cups flour
¼ tsp salt
¾ cup margarine
½ cup brown sugar
1 egg yolk (save the egg white!)
½ tsp vanilla


  • Mix ingredients together.
  • Form into balls and dip in egg white.
  • Roll in 1 1/2 cup chopped nuts.

    • Bake at 350 for 20 minutes.
