Columbus Couple Wins $25,000 Giveaway from BEE Window
Jim and Carla Hill of Columbus are the winners of the 2008 BEE Window $25,000 Home Improvement Giveaway. The Hills are having nine new windows and a new front entryway installed on their house, courtesy of BEE Window. The Hills were selected from more than 17,000 people who entered the annual contest in which BEE gives one winner the choice of new windows, doors, sunroom or siding.
“I couldn’t believe it!”
On February 7, co-owner Pam Faerber called the Hills live from the Indianapolis Home Show. When Carla heard the news, she wasn’t sure she believed it. “I didn’t think it was for real,” she recalls. Pam put husband and co-owner George Faerber on the phone to convince Carla it was the real deal. “I couldn’t believe it! We just never dreamed we’d win any prize of that amount. Now my husband says I can enter any contest I want!”
The reality of their winnings really sunk in when they met with BEE Sales Manager Terri Scheele. With her guidance, the Hills – who have wanted new windows for their 1970s home for several years now – decided to have nine double-hung windows and a new sandstone-colored, steel front door installed.
BEE is pleased with the opportunity to work with the Hills. “I enjoy helping every customer, but there’s something especially fun about helping the winner of our giveaway contest. It’s great to be the deliverer of something great like this,” says Terri.
“I can hardly wait!”
The Hills are excited about how the new windows and doors will transform their home. Each year, they do some home maintenance projects. Replacing windows is a project they’ve had on their home improvement list for awhile, but one that was still several years off in terms of affordability. “We’ve really needed new windows and doors for a long time. I can only imagine what this will do to the look and value of our home. It’s going to be so much more attractive. It will feel like we have a new house. I can hardly wait until it’s done,” says Carla.
